Canadian Trucker Limerick

goldennews

In Ottawa streets walk brutes,

Quite proud of their nice jackboots,

But while they high-five,

Their wives do connive,

With truckers in carnal pursuits.

Good news! (I HOPE!) Trudeau revoked his Emergency Act. My concern is that the 10% who want to travel, minus any vaccination could risk getting sick as they might make others sick. The mandate was put in place to keep Covid from going any further. And it worries me that a few might do great harm to others, just to get around the rules the rest of us have to live by. It's pretty darn childish. I PRAY it doesn't come to that again! 🙏

I'm thinking of the guy who brought Omicron to North America from South Africa because a step was skipped somewhere along the line. To quote Chief Brody, "I don't intend to go through that hell again!"

Today, at the store, I shook the hand of a working trucker. One of the (THANK GOD) 90% per cent who are keeping things moving!

So many things mandated for our safety didn't work or were highly destructive. Lock-downs, for instance, or cloth masks, especially on kids.

As much of the world—California excepted—drops COVID restrictions, let's hope things chill out.

AMEN!!!! I'm sooo looking forward to seeing faces outside. We don't have any laws about wearing masks outside, just a deeply ingrained paranoia. People are so afraid of dying that they are scared to live. Like a line from an old song, "Old Man River" (Tired of living but feared of dyin'.)

A leading Manitoba doctor is really messing with people's heads, saying that we should have those fast tests whether we have symptoms or not. Ya know, this thing is doing as much psychological harm as physical harm. (with the exception of deaths) . I'm developing a Damn the Torpedoes approach to life. If you're gonna spend all your life afraid of dying, then you might as well be dead. I've survived breast cancer TWICE, childhood Pneumonia, thanks to parents who smoked.... I'm tired of worrying about something I have no power to change. As long as I take precautions, which I have, I'm just gonna get on with my life til the day I'm no longer alive. Then there's heaven. I can live with that.

On Pinterest, I see pics of people in the water with Great White Sharks. WON'T be doing THAT but I won't be rolling myself into Bubble Wrap either.

There's no rebate on the human body.

So avoid the sharks and embrace the one life we all have.

Oh, so True! I looked around for the receipt and nope. I'm stuck with what I got. 😂

There's a song I go to, when I'm tired or stressed, "Heaven's Sounding Sweeter All the Time." All the same, I will be avoiding the sharks unless it's on Shark Week and I'm in my comfy living room chair.

Have a great weekend!
