Hail, Donner and Blitzen
That would describe the weather during today's walk. With uncanny timing, I started exercise just as hail fell, followed by a downpour plus the above-named thunder and lightning. You can only be so wet at any one time, so I pressed on and finished. It was, however, the fastest walk I've done to date.

At least the weather in California is somewhat predictable. I'm noticing more and more that nobody really can predict what's going to happen here just east of the Sierra Nevada.
I've seen a high temperature prediction for the following day vary by almost 30 degrees between three weather forecasters.
Today, the NOAA listed my area as 100 percent chance of snow (which is supposed to mean it's snowing all day long), predicting 2 to 4 inches of accumulation during the day.
At 1:15, it started to rain slightly, with some snow mixed in.
At 1:30, it stopped.
At 3:00, I saw sunshine.
The road was dry in the middle by the time the "daytime" ended. With relatively clear skies overhead, and the TV weather man saying we're all clear until tomorrow when we'll only get a trace of snow anyway, we decided to go out for dinner. Shortly after sitting down in the restaurant, we looked outside and the air was white with snow.
