Busy writing that short story. I must always remember the reader - picky bastards. Too many characters or too much information triggers the Snooze button.
Whenever I feel sorry for myself about running, something happens to snap me out of it. I'll visit my friend K's blog or stumble upon something like this.

"Too many characters or too much information triggers the Snooze button."
It worked for Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Bleach... sort of!
Couldn't say one way or the other.
But naming and describing too many characters too soon in narrative fiction ends up reading like the Book of Leviticus.
Another great story of optimism is that of Alex Zanardi (warning: some images show gore).
A year and a half after being essentially cut in half in a racing accident on Sept. 15, 2001, he was back in a car driving over 200 mph using his prosthetic legs. He continues racing today, in touring cars.
And his entire attitude is so inspiring, as seen in this appearance on the Late Show (video is the second half of his appearance, picking up where they left off before commercials, when he concluded his description of what happened in the accident by saying simply, "and then part of Alex went that way, and part of Alex went the other way").
