Cancel Culture Finally Explained

So much chat about canceling this one and banning that one. At last, the sound reasoning behind such dramatic actions is explained.

EXCELLENT points made.

The whole issue about someone doing something in the PAST that is used to bring them down now WHEN, in fact, the whole story might not be known.

Taking things out of context, not giving people the whole story (what DID happen) and, as the guy said, creating a narrative or back story that may or may NOT be real cancelling a person out, based on what that fictional narrative persuades the masses believe.

OY!!! 🤦‍♀️

Like a gun, social media may be used for good or ill.

Once upon a time, I got a computer; believing that I'd be scribbling a book a year, minus a snow drift of white out necessary to correct mistakes.

Then... Social Media happened. Now, it's as pervasive as all get out; disconnecting us from getting any constructive writing work done and stressing us out with people we don't even know, with situations we're not fully informed about.

PLEASE, JP, if you take requests, write a story about a time machine that takes people back to a favorite part of their lives. You'd be better at that sort of story than I would be. Or, just have the story be about accidentally ending up in a time machine (kinda like DR WHO fan fiction) and ending up in a time you want to revisit.

I'm a bit of an Ostrich these days, avoiding crappy world issues whenever I can.

I myself try and parcel out the unpleasantness so as not to distort my view of things.

Read Story Du Jour #23. It actually touches on your story idea.
