Google Doodle Veterans Day Joke

I'm guessing that reducing the sacrifice of many to a mawkish ideological poster is a jest of some sort. In truth, I'd be surprised if anyone in Google served in the military. Hence, they would know zero about the importance of unit cohesion. Somehow I don't feel honored by this.

I wonder if Google lives by the verse in that John Lenon song, Imagine. "Nothing to kill or die for..."

Sad as that verse is, worse come to worst, if people had NOT been willing to take on those the Hitlers and Stalins and all the other scuzz-wads of the world, where would we be today?

The idea that, to these people, there is NO CAUSE worthy of dying for makes life shallow. They have NO cause or purpose greater than whatever they're doing? If they saw a friend in imminent danger, or even a beloved pet, about to get run over, they wouldn't rush into the face of danger, without a thought for themselves, to rescue that best friend of beloved fur baby? That IS sad!

Jesus scolded the Pharisees on the matter of Sabbath rules, saying, "If, on the Sabbath, you had a donkey or a lamb in a ditch, would you not lay hold and lift it out?" (loosely translated).

"No greater love has anyone, but that he lay down his life for his friends. " John 15:13

THANK YOU!!!

The banner seems so trivial.
