Jury Duty and Traffic
Jury duty is at least interesting. Morning traffic from my house to downtown Los Angeles is like sitting on a high branch with bees in your shorts—unpleasant and precarious. Yesterday, I saw a man flip out because some guy had edged in front of him. He whipped his car into the next lane just so he could violently cut back in front of the guy. All the time, he's leaning on the stinking horn. Perhaps all the shootings blamed on road rage really have nothing to do with crazed drivers, but are the actions of bystanders administering street justice to savage dopes. I hope so.

I love hearing my mom complain about Jury Duty, she's avoided it three times.
Im thankful for the easy traffic here, except in downtown Columbus where everyone forgets how to drive crossing the bridge.
My last three times I haven't been chosen for a panel.
Before that I was picked for a panel but the clients settled before trial.
But now I'm digging the experience—just not the commute.
As to downtown Columbus, I want you to stand on the sidewalk with a megaphone and beg people to think while driving across the bridge. A small thing, perhaps, but you may change a life.
Perhaps so, but they'll probably just throw their lit cigarettes at me as they drive across three lanes of traffic without checking their blind spot. But it's something to strive for, changed lives, and I get to use a megaphone.
