The Simpsons featured a new opening by UK graffiti artist Banksy depicting the show's animation and merchandising being created in a squalid, dungeon-like sweat shop. It's already been pulled from EW.com. Is this a case of "I'm guilty over exploiting foreigners, but I'll take the money anyway" or more over-the-top Simpsons humor?

Outsourced animation? People act as if it's new. Outsourced animation has been the rusty staple holding western animation together for the past thirty years almost. What's the big deal? And I wonder exactly how many people understand that animation cells, such as the ones depicted in the opening, haven't been in use since around 2003 with the show Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. (atleast to my knowledge.) This controversy is laughable.
Certainly not new, just odd in its timing.
I dont really get the controversy. Guess Fox can't laugh at itself, unless... They want us to believe they really have a unicorn locked up somewhere. Why else would they make a deal of this than to get more attention to it?
Yeah really, that ship sailed to start voicing concern about 20 years ago. But, hardly anyone pays attention to anything that isn't talking in animation. We call those kinds of people the audience. And they're getting slower all the time. But not us! We, or I at least, take into consideration all the work that goes into film making. When I go to the movies, I pay attention to sets, camera work, lighting, editing, and of course writing, staging, and acting. Even more so with me, animation. Of course, to me, every millisecond of animation is amazing. Every new frame is a work of art. The backgrounds, the color, the timing, everything is the pure vision of the creator. Well, maybe not in TV.
I like this new main title a lot. Hope they use it every week!
That opening totally made me think of this (around 0:55). And that was done, what, 10 years ago? Yep. When this issue was a liiiittle bit more relevant.
You guys saw this interview, right?
