And, happen on the 'net! Cool beans.
Cool to know it's doing well so far. The funniest bits for me have been the "actor" bios on the web page.
A silly parody of this nature is difficult to pull off in live action without it just being stupid. The key, I think, really is to act way over the top. Playing it straight just makes it seem dumb; playing it exaggerated makes it absurd enough. An example of this is a Doctor Who story from 1987 called Paradise Towers. Many people hated it for being so silly, but some of us loved how over the top it was and how it sent up various things.
Thanks for sending me the note about this too, John. I had kind of forgotten about it.
I just realized yesterday that this has a fat boy named Billy in it, and Paul also did a bit as Freakazoid (probably one of his wacky ad-libs) involving a fat boy named Billy. ("Now is a good time for a chat with my inner child...") Coincidence, or a Fat Boys Named Billy complex? The world may never know!
Chubby boys named "Billy" run through Paul's work — a leitmotif best left unexamined.
I've just started a 'fan-base' fictional wikipedia based on Sam Plenty...feel free to join!
